Zapier task limit: what each plan allows
Zapier's task limit is set by plan: the Free plan allows 100 tasks a month, and Professional starts at 750 tasks, with tiers up to 50,000 in the table below, as read on October 30, 2026. A task is any successful action that runs in Zapier, and a Zap, Zapier's word for one automated workflow, never spends a task on its trigger. Free and Professional plans are for one user; Team includes up to 25.
The table shows selected tiers; Zapier's task selector also lists 1,500, 5,000 and 20,000 tasks and goes on to 2 million and a custom limit.
| Zapier tier | Billed monthly | Billed yearly, per month |
|---|---|---|
| Free, 100 tasks, two-step Zaps | $0 | $0 |
| Professional, 750 tasks | $29.99 | $19.99 |
| Professional, 2,000 tasks | $73.50 | $49 |
| Professional, 10,000 tasks | $193.50 | $129 |
| Professional, 50,000 tasks | $433.50 | $289 |
| Team, 2,000 tasks, 25 users | $103.50 | $69 |

With pay-per-task billing off, Zapier holds new Zap runs until your billing cycle resets. With it on, tasks past the plan are billed at a higher per-task rate than your base subscription tasks. Zapier's help article says it is on by default for accounts that joined after January 2024 and is for paid plans.
Zapier's help article says the pay-per-task limit is equivalent to three times the plan's task limit, while its pay-per-task article says the maximum, plan tasks included, is three times the plan's limit, so Zapier stops runs at three times the plan's limit in total.
Zapier's own example: on Professional 750 the maximum is 2250 tasks, 750 plus 1500 of pay-per-task. Past it, tasks are held until the billing cycle ends; held runs can be replayed after a reset, an upgrade or enabling pay-per-task billing.
Turning pay-per-task billing off takes effect at once, and usage accrued before that goes on your next invoice. For comparison, Pabbly Connect's Standard plan also stops at its allowance: workflows stop and trigger data waits in a queue of one trigger for every 100 tasks of the plan.
Raise the tier, turn on pay-per-task or move
- Raise the tier. An upgrade takes effect at once, and Zapier says your billing date and task count reset when you upgrade. A downgrade or cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.
- Turn pay-per-task billing on, or leave it on. The rate depends on your plan and billing cycle and shows in your Billing settings; Zapier's help article gives no public dollar rate.
- Move some work to another tool, covered next.
Zapier's own sizing example: a Zap with three actions and 10 leads a day uses 30 tasks a day, about 900 in a month, so look at tiers above that. Zapier calls its billing page the most accurate figure for the account; how Zapier counts tasks lists the rules.
Moving some Zaps before the next cycle
- Open Zap history and its Task usage tab, and pick a date range. It lists up to 100 Zaps, highest task use first.
- Count a month of runs inside Zapier's window: it guarantees only 60 days of Zap run data in Zap history and shows up to 10,000 runs.
- Rebuild the busiest Zap in the other tool's builder: choose the trigger app and event, choose the action app, switch it on. Pabbly Connect's Free plan holds 100 tasks a month with no card, in 2 workflows of up to 2 steps.
- Keep the Zapier plan until the rebuilt workflow matches the Zap. Zapier applies a downgrade or cancellation at the end of the billing cycle, so the paid plan stays active while you test.
A flat-priced plan instead of a cap
Pabbly Connect's Unlimited plan, $79 a month billed monthly or $69 a month billed yearly ($828 for the year), gives one business a 100,000-task starting balance that you can reset once a day, once 80% of it is used, instead of a fixed monthly cap. Team members come with Unlimited. Zapier alternatives lists the other routes.
An account that stays inside its tier needs no change, and one built on an app only Zapier lists stays; Zapier cites 9,000+ app connections. Move when one business keeps reaching the limit with many short workflows; an agency automating its own work is one business. Make suits a smaller load: Core is $16 a month, billed monthly, for 10,000 credits. Pabbly Connect vs Zapier sets the two against each other.
