Zapier vs Make: tasks against credits
Make costs less than Zapier at 10,000 a month: Core is $16 for 10,000 credits and Zapier Professional is $193.50 for 10,000 tasks, both billed monthly, as read on October 30, 2026. The units differ. Zapier counts a task for each successful action, and triggers, Filter and Paths are free. Make counts a credit for most actions, including reading data from an app or webhook, and a router uses none.
A Zap is Zapier's word for one workflow and a scenario is Make's. Build the same workflow on both: a form response arrives, a spreadsheet row is added, a CRM contact is created and a team message is posted. That is 3 tasks per run on Zapier and 4 credits per run on Make, because Make counts reading the incoming data.

Make's figures come from its US price list. Zapier prints its yearly rate as a monthly figure and no yearly total, so its yearly row gives a monthly rate, billed yearly. Make has no 50,000-credit tier; its list runs from 40,000 to 80,000. For all three tools at 1,000, 10,000 and 50,000 a month, see the workflow automation software cost comparison.

Over the limit on each
When pay-per-task billing is off, Zapier holds new runs until the cycle resets. With it on, Zapier charges a higher per-task rate, up to three times the plan's limit in total. That billing is on by default for accounts that joined after January 2024. Zapier prints no dollar rate for it; the account's billing settings show it.
Make stops scenarios when credits reach zero, until more are added, and sells extra credits in bundles of 1,000 or 10,000 at the price set in the subscription. Unused Make credits expire at the end of the term.
Apps, users and free plans
Zapier cites 9,000+ app connections and Make cites 3,000+ to 3,500+ apps; the counts are not like for like, so search each directory for your own apps. Zapier's Free and Professional plans are for one user, and Team includes up to 25 users.
Every new Zapier account is enrolled in a 14-day trial of Professional with no card, and the Free plan stays at 100 tasks. Make's pricing page lists no trial, only its Free plan of 1,000 credits.
Where Pabbly Connect fits as a third option
Pabbly Connect counts an action on an external app as a task and leaves triggers free, as Zapier does; Make counts a credit when a module reads data from an app or webhook. Standard is $19 a month for 10,000 tasks, billed monthly. Unlimited is $79 a month, billed monthly, and its terms describe a 100,000-task starting balance that you can reset once a day, once 80% of it is used, for one business.
Pick Make for a low monthly price at 10,000 credits. Pick Zapier when an app you need is listed only there or a team needs Team's 25 users. Pick Pabbly Connect for many simple workflows at 50,000 or more a month on Unlimited, and n8n when one run of a long workflow should count once.
Pabbly Connect, the third option here, has a Free plan with 100 tasks a month. See Pabbly Connect vs Make and Pabbly Connect vs Zapier for each pair.
